![]() Smooth slugs can be shot from your Canvasback but should not be shot through any choke tighter than Modified. Rifled barrels are not (that I know of) offered for the CZ double guns. Smooth slugs are generally used in specialized rifled slug barrels. ![]() I've used them only a little over the years, so I am far from an expert on slugs. Can ANY 12g shotgun shoot a slug round (without damaging the gun for use as a clay or bird gun) or are these slug rounds intended for use in specific guns? I have the Canvasback and an 870 both 12gĬlick to expand. There are many different types of slugs made. I would guess the rifled choke is made for shooting slug rounds. Last item of interest is the 12g slug round. Hypothetically, if I bought a 22lr laser site and a 12ga insert that allows me to insert a 22lr round into my 12g I might be able to use the same bore sight to aid in determining whether my mount produces a true site picture. I found the idea interesting and even considered getting one for my 22 (I can't seem to get my hands on any ammunition and can't sight my scope until/unless I do). I assume the 12g laser site is intended to aid in siteing for slug shots. ![]() Next item of interest: I found bore laser sites intended to help sight guns. Anyone ever use these? Any guesses as to what kind of damage to firing pins or other parts firing something other than shot shells can do? In my searches I found several items that I found interesting, maybe some of you can give me yor oppinons.įirst item of interest: Tube inserts that allow a 12ga to shoot a variety of different size shells and even rifle and handgun rounds. My biggest challenge is/will be determining what choke I need for each situation. I had been wondering what kind of chokes tubes fit my Canvasback, from what I can tell from posts and from what I have been able to get my hands on Beretta and Benelli tubes fit my CB. I looked at the CDNN wesite and didn't find a set of extended tubes available (they are out of stock).
